Music concerts at the end of February

Probably some of you would be interested in visiting a few music concerts at the end of winter. There are some really nice events held in the greatest clubs and concert halls of Prague. Here I am inviting you to have a look over them:

16.02 19:00  – Scott Kelley

Scott Kelley is a wonderful guitar player, one of the former Neurosis band. His deep voice and magic guitar performance are just unbelievable. This time the musician will play at one of the most beautiful parks in Prague – Vysehrad, in the building of the old Burgraviate.

18.02   20.00- NEW YOUNG PONY CLUB (UK)

This chic British band will have their first concert in Prague supporting the release of their second album ‘The Optimist’. Continuing the culmination of hybrid disco they pioneered, New Young Pony Club are taking full control of their present and future and their new album proves it. Get ready for a blend of dark disco, pop punk, and new wave at their first ever show in the Czech Republic on February 18th.

18.02  22:00 - CARNIVAL FEST & PANJABI MC LIVE

Pick up your best party costume as you are going to the huge indoor carnival. The dancefloor of SaSaZu club is waiting for 3000 students! Be one of them! If you are lucky you can get one of the prizes for the best crazy costume: the prize can be up to 25000 CZK! 18.02 – 19.02  19:30 – The Young Gods

The Young Gods is a Swiss music band that already exists more than 25 years. However they are still very ambitious and creative. Their last album “Everybody Knows” is a new step in their musical career. According to the fact that the concert on the 18^th of February is already sold out, the band decided to set another concert the following day.

23.02   19:30 – Konono no.1

Garage music band from Kongo is coming to Prague. Holders of the BBC World Music Awards will perform their old and new program suppoting their new album “Assume Crash Position”. This African DIY discovery immediately became a hit at the alternative scene around the world and is successful not only on the stages of world music, but also electronic, experimental and jazz festivals.

23.02   21:00 - AGHARTA PRAGUE JAZZ FESTIVAL 2011: STEVE LUKATHER –

The festival kicks off with a surprise for the rock fans with legendary guitarist Steve Lukather. He first appeared to critical acclaim in March 2009 and he’s off on a major European tour with the same band members to promote his new album “All’s Well That Ends Well”.

25.02 – Gotan Project

Gotan Project are a group of French dancers who have innovated a new style of dancing – electrotango. So they have “built a bridge” between modern electronic music and classic stzle of dancing. This group of artists have got the prize BBC World Awards twice!! Their music is a part of some famous films as well. You can hear it in the “Sex and the city” and “Shall we Dance”. They have performed at Paris Olypmie, At Wien Opera and at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Now you have an oportunity to see them in Prague!

26.02 – Apocalyptica

This music band from Finland has released their 7^th album called “7^th Symphony” this summer and in february they are coming to the Czech republic supporting their new album. Musicians say that this album is very special, that every fan of rock music can find some nice songs according to their preferences.
